I am not really a big fan of episode recaps, but after episodes 9 and 10 of Phantom Lawyer, I felt I needed to check in with everyone.
Are we okay?
Episode 9 was such an emotional episode, and I won’t give too much away if you haven’t seen it, but the episode involved our suspicious, go-getting lawyer, Han Na-Hyun coming to terms with the death of her older sister and expressing the guilt she felt surrounding her sister’s death out loud, which if you haven’t dealt with the guilt of a loved one dying you know how powerful it is to say your feelings out loud.

I cried. My head hurt so bad because I was trying to have a contained cry and not the ugly cry that was surging in my body. This show reminded me of why I fell in love with watching K-Dramas in the first place: an outlandish story premise, such as a lawyer who has ghost clients, becoming the launching pad for discussing the hardships and joys of simply being human.
AND! The show is 16 episodes. I am so happy that there will be time to flesh out the story and live with these amazing characters a little bit longer.
Are you looking forward to seeing if Shin I-Rang makes amends with his father’s ghost? Do you think his father was also a shaman lawyer? So many mysteries await us for the rest of the show, and I can’t wait.
Let me know what you think of Phantom Lawyer so far.

Great
